- First Introduction to Black Boar: Bob first encountered Tony at Petey Fusco's room. Someone said "Hey, there is a little guy over there selling cues. Tony- something." Bob said, "A cue is a cue, what's the big deal?" He hit with a cue and to his own surprise, liked it. He asked Tony the price and Tony said, "$1800 for 2". Bob said, "I'll give you $1500 for 2." Tony said the equivalent of, "Get the **** outta here." Bob said, "$1500 cash now." Tony said, "no." Bob said, "$1600 for the 2, cash now." Tony said, "no." Bob told me he thought later that he should have bought them.
In 1999, not a Black Boar owner at the time, Bob's pool room suffered from a major flood. He lost almost everything. He told me that shortly thereafter he received a call from Tony. Tony offered to fix the cues damaged from the flood. Bob said, "I was so touched and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
